Biography: Maurice C. Losey was a strong supporter of (Harvey) Thornton High School’s basketball program for many years.  He was a season ticket holder at Thornton beginning in 1955.  Maurice passed up winters in Florida to remain in Illinois to follow the Wildcats to Pekin or Centralia for holiday basketball tournament action.  The Streator High School and Illinois Wesleyan University graduate would tell his friends about the great Thornton players he had watched.  His favorite team was the 1966 IHSA State Championship squad.
