Biography: Leonard C. Smith is a familiar face for visiting teams to Eldorado High School basketball and football games. Leonard served as the school’s official timer for the two sports for 52+ seasons. He was a member of the Eldorado Board of Education and was instrumental in the construction of the school’s fine gymnasium. He has been honored by the Eldorado School District as well as the Southern Illinois Officials Association for his outstanding contributions to athletics in the Eldorado and Southern Illinois area.  Leonard passed away on July 1, 1982 at the age of 74.
