Biography: At the time of his induction Rod Taylor, a Belleville resident, had served as an IHSA official for 26 years. He had worked at both the high school and collegiate circuits. His high school resume features refereeing games in the Southwestern, Central State 8, Mississippi Valley, South Seven, Apollo and River to River Conferences. So he has worked at numerous places throughout Southern and Central Illinois. That list of locations also includes several shootouts and holiday tournament championship games, specifically Highland, O’Fallon, Centralia, Collinsville, Breese Mater Dei and Columbia. In 2019, he earned his first state assignment, officiating the IHSA Boys’ Class 4A third-place game in Peoria.  On the collegiate scene, Taylor has called games in the Great Rivers, American Midwest and SLIAC, plus NJCAA Region 16 contests.
