Biography:

Gary Gliesmann liked to do things in triplicate when he played basketball at (Dundee) Irving Crown High School from 1978 to 1981. Gliesmann was a three-year starter, a three-time MVP, three-time Fox Valley Conference scoring champion and three-time unanimous all-FVC selection. He was also named to the Elgin Courier News all-area team three times and was its Player of the Year as a junior and senior. Three times he was named to the Grayslake Christmas Tournament all-tournament team and was MVP as a senior.

As a senior, Gliesmann was named to the IBCA All-State team and the Chicago Sun-Times all-area team. Gliesmann played in 100 games and left career records at Crown for points scored (2,011), rebounds (1,034), steals-blocked shots (534), field goals (867), field goal attempts (1,494), free throws (277) and free throw attempts (416).

He established single-season marks for points (640), field goals (271) and rebounds (344). His single-game marks include points (42), field goals (18) and rebounds (22). Gliesmann played at The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and was team captain as a junior and senior.
