Biography:

At the time of his induction, of Marty’s 37 years of coaching, 31 came in central Illinois as a valued assistant coach. He coached for six years in St. Louis at Bishop DuBourg High School before returning to his alma mater, (Peoria) Bergan High School, as the boys’ freshman coach.  After Bergan consolidated, Marty had stints as boys’ freshman, sophomore and varsity assistant coach at the newly formed (Peoria) Notre Dame High School where he has spent 25 years. He also coached sixth-grade boys’ and girls’ basketball for six years at Peoria’s St. Philomena Grade School.
