Biography: 

Karna was a first-team all-stater and fourth-team All-American as a Sterling High School senior in 1983. She averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds and four steals, leading Sterling to fourth place in the IHSA State Tournament. She totaled 1,979 career points and 1,019 rebounds.  Karna then starred at Indiana University, scoring 1,910 points, which was good for third all-time. She was a first-team all-Big Ten pick in 1985, ‘86 and ‘87 and was the IU Female Athlete of the Year in 1987.
