Biography:

At the time of his induction, Kip had been at the Mendota Reporter since 1984, establishing a level of excellence in sports coverage. He is a noted historian of Mendota High School athletics and once wrote a series on the top 20 sports legends in school history.

If there has been a big game in Mendota in the four decades prior to his induction, Kip has covered it. He has maintained top-notch sports coverage while assuming other duties at the paper, including publisher. He has won numerous Illinois Press Association awards.
