Biography: Russ ended his triumphant 31-year run as men’s basketball coach at Sauk Valley Community College when he retired in 2017.  He had posted a 592-392 record at Sauk Valley, where he also served as the school’s athletic director.  Russ was named the NJCAA Region IV Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2016, years that his teams won that region’s crowns.  Region IV inducted Russ into its Hall of Fame in 2006.  His teams won Arrowhead Conference titles in 1989 and 1991.
