Biography: Jack Darlington is another outstanding player tutored by IBCA Hall of Famer Vergil Fletcher at Collinsville High School. Darlington was a regular on the 1963-64 team which went 28-1. The lone loss came in the Salem Super-sectional, 55-50 to Centralia High School. The following year, Darlington was again a Kahok starter. Darlington was the captain of the Kahoks 1965 IHSA State Champions. In the championship game, a 55-52 defeat of Quincy High School, Darlington was the team’s scoring leader with 17 points. Darlington is credited with being a great leader by Fletcher, and being outstanding on defense. Darlington led his team in assists, but was known for his clutch shooting and compiled a .502 shooting percentage as a senior. Darlington was accorded all-conference, all=state and all-tournament honors. Darlington played college basketball at Nicholls State University in Louisiana.
