Biography:

Grant Finley was involved with the basketball programs in Nokomis for nearly 35 years at the time of his induction. From 1968-73, Finley was the scorekeeper for the junior high boys. From 1987 to 2002 he was the scorekeeper for the junior high tournament.

Starting in 1973, Finley drove the bus and kept score for the Nokomis boys’ teams. In 1988, he started keeping the scorebook and driving the bus for the girls’ team.

Finley was a postal employee for 32 years. He spent 15 as night supervisor at the Decatur Post Office and many times took the Nokomis team to its game and back home before heading to Decatur to work. Then he drove the school bus the next morning. Finley traveled with the boys to state tournaments in 1983 and 1997 and with the girls in 1998 and 1999.
