Biography: Mike Fletcher was a three-year starter for his father, Vergil Fletcher, on the Collinsville Kahoks from 1966-69. In those years, the Kahoks won 85% of their games, two Southwest conference championships and played in the IHSA Elite Eight in 1967. Mike, a left hander, is rated as one of the most outstanding point guards in Collinsville history. One of  the Kahoks’ top scorers, Mike ranked third on the all-time chart for assists with 487. An all-Southwest Conference player, Fletcher received some  all-state recognition as a senior. Fletcher is remembered as the outstanding chaser on Collinsville’s ball press defense.. A great leader, Fletcher also quarterbacked the football team. Fletcher was named Collinsnville’s scholar-athlete in 1969. He played collegiate basketball at Memphis State University and Northeastern Louisiana University.
