Biography: Upon his 2012 HOF induction, Paul had coached boys’ basketball for 33 years.  Included were stints of 1 year at Stillman Valley High School, 4 years at (Richton Park) Rich South High School, and 28 years at Downers Grove South High School.  He spent 2 seasons as a freshman coach, 7 seasons at the sophomore level, 12 as a varsity assistant coach, and 12 seasons as a varsity head coach.  Paul guided the Mustangs to 2 IHSA State Finals appearances.  In 2003, the squad advanced through the Elite Eight and in 2005 they finished 3rd in Class AA.  Overall, Paul’s teams posted a 430-287 record.
