Biography: A highly successful coach in swimming, baseball, basketball and golf, Ed served as the head basketball coach at Chicago Foreman from 1958-65. He went on to become athletic director at Chicago Taft from 1974 to 1991.  Ed’s contributions helped Taft become a basketball power in Illinois. Hall of Fame coach Frank Hood said, “Sitting next to Coach Mitchell during a basketball game is an experience for which everyone should have to pay extra.”
