Biography: Marty began covering high school sports for The Daily Herald  in 1992 and coordinated coverage with the Cook County Bureau beginning in 2001.  Marty annually covered the IHSA Class AA State Finals.  He began as an Associated Press poll voter since 1995 and coordinated voting for the AP boys’ all-state teams for the five years preceding his induction.  Marty has earned media awards from state high school baseball and track/cross country organizations for his outstanding coverage of those sports in addition to basketball.
