Biography: At the time of her induction, Jane had been a sportswriter at The Peoria Journal Star for 32 years.  She had covered virtually every high school sport during her tenure and was covering cross country, Class 3A/4A girls basketball and boys and girls track and field at that time.  The Galesburg native was passionate about basketball from a young age.  Jane was a strong supporter of the girls’ game from the beginning in 1975.  She was a national finalist for the AP Sports Editors’ Game Story Award in 2004 for a story on girls’ basketball.
