Biography: Prior to his Hall of Fame induction, Mike had served as the play-by-play announcer for Eastern Illinois University men’s basketball for 22 years and for Pantehers’ football for 10 years.  He is an associate professor and associate chair of communication studies at the university.  Mike began at EIU in 1990 and worked for 7 years for WLBH Radio in Mattoon.  He received the 2004 Silver Dome Award for best small market radio play-by-play.
