Biography: A graduate of Quincy College (now Quincy University), Sam has been a basketball official for 30+ years, staring at the high school level and advancing to college Division I games.  He worked at the Division I level from 1985-2007, including postseason games in the NIT and NCAA tournaments.  Same woked the NIT finals at Madison Square Garden in New York.  A past president of the Illini Officials Association, he officiated games in the Big 12, Big 10, Missouri Valley and Mid-American conferences.
