Biography: Babe was an official for 37 years until retiring in 1989.  He worked high school, junior college, and college games in Illinois and Missouri.  Babe worked his first high school varsity game in 1957.  He became a fixture at holiday tournaments in Centralia, Breese (Mater Dei), and Carbondale. Babe was also a teacher and baseball coach for many years at Granite City High School.
