Biography: Bob Beckwith was Morris High School’s first basketball player to receive statewide attention. Bob was a four-year starter from 1928-32 for Morris and a teammate of fellow IBCA Hall of Famer Ted Panish. As a senior, Beckwith’s team lost its opening game before reeling off 26 consecutive wins. After Morris, Bob attended Exeter Academy in NH before enrolling at Yale University where he played three seasons for the Bulldogs and served as team captain his senior year. Bob was an All-Eastern League player. After college he returned to Morris and was associated with the Morris paper mill for his professional career.
