Biography: Riley was a star shooting guard at (Chicago) Von Steuben High School, earning all-city and all-state player honors.  He averaged 19.3 ppg as a sophomore, 23.8 ppg as a junior and 28.7 ppg as a senior in 1972-73.  Riley finished his career as the Panthers’ career leading scorer.  He earned a scholarship to The University of Detroit, where he was a 3-year starter for head coach Dick Vitale.
