Marnie (Triefenbach) Herrling

Biography: Marnie was a 1st team all-state basketball player as a junior and senior at Belleville West High School, despite being best known for volleyball.  Although she initially went to Stanford University on a basketball scholarship, she soon switched to volleyball and helped lead the Cardinal to the NCAA Division I National Championship.  Marnie led Belleville West’s Maroons to a 28-1 record and an IHSA Regional title during her junior basketball season.  She paced the volleyball team to consecutive IHSA Class AA State Volleyball Championships.  Marnie is a member of the St. Louis Area Sports Hall of Fame.
