Biography:  Rob is the fourth member of the Judson family to be inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame as players.  (His father Phil–1979, and uncles Paul–1973 and Howard—1986).  As a prepster, Rob spent his first 3 years in Adrian, MI before finishing at Zion-Benton High School.  He won team, county, and North Suburban Conference MVP honors as a senior (1975-76).  Rob was named to All-Area and First-Team All-State player honors by The Chicago Daily News and The Champaign News-Gazette.  He was the leading scorer in the 1976 IBCA All-Star game. After high school, Rob followed his dad’s and uncles’ paths to the University of Illinois where he lettered for four years (1976-80).  Rob played on teams that compiled a 70-52 record.  He won All-Big Ten Academic and Fourth Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as a junior on a 23-13 Illini quintet that placed third in NIT (1978-79).  He repeated All-Big Ten Academic status as a senior, in addition to a fourth straight George Huff Academic Award.  Rob set U of I single-season (.957 pct.) and career free throw (.875) records.  After playing for Hall of Fame Coach Lou Henson (IBCA inductee in 1995), Rob owns over 30 years of coaching experience—including six as the head coach at Northern Illinois (2001-07).  He has been an NCAA Division I assistant under head coaches Jim Molinari (NIU and Bradley), Lon Kruger and BIll Self (Illinois), Tim Jankovich (Illinois State), Tom Crean (Indiana), and Steve Wojciechowski (Marquette).
