Biography: Megan Edwards played at Maine West High School where she set many school records in her career. At the time of her graduations she was 2nd overall with most points scored in a game with 35,  most points scored in a season with 616, most points scored in a career with 1,648, 2nd with most points scored in a game with 19.9, most 3pt field goals with146, and best free throw percentage with 88%. Megan was selected 3-time CSL All-Conference, 3-time Daily Herald All-Area, 3-time Pioneer Press All-Area, 3-Time Chicago Sun-Times All-State, IBCA 4th, 3rd, and 1st Team All-State, 2-time Daily Herald Player of the Week, Daily Herald ALL-Area Team Co-Captain, Daily Herald Player of the Year, Des Plaines Journal Player of the Year, Illinois Miss Basketball Nominee, McDonald’s All-American Honorable Mention, and Maine West Captain, MVP, Athlete of the Year, and Maine West Hall of Fame. She received the President’s Athletic Education Award, IHSA Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, and the WBCA All American Honorable Mention. Megan moved on to play at Eastern Illinois University where she was selected as Freshman of the Week 3 weeks in a row, made the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, was the 4th player in program history to make 50+ 3’s in a season, made the Top 50 National Rankings and was a Lair Fund Recipient for leadership, achievement, integrity, and responsibility. Megan currently teaches and coaches at the high school level.
