Biography: This was Coach Gay Kintner’s third and final State Championship with Stephen Decatur High School. This was also the year of one of the most thrilling games played in the State Tournament when Decatur came from behind three times to defeat Galesburg 73-72 in overtime. The team was led by Bob Doster and George Riley. Riley was voted to the All-Tournament team as a center. Doster set the individual scoring record of 34 points for one game.
