Biography:  The 1975 IHSA Class A State Champion Venice Red Devils exemplified great teamwork, dedication and a tremendous desire to win.  The 32-2 Red Devils were coached by Rich Essington and led by point guard Jeff Corrie and all state center Michael Henry.  Other key players were James Crowder, Reggie Gardner, James Turner and Mike Logan.  Despite an enrollment of only 170 students, the Red Devils won numerous high pressure games–one in 8 overtimes, one in 3 overtimes and one in 2 overtimes.  The 1975 Venice Red Devils never knew the words “lose” or “quit”.
