BiographyThe 1957 Herrin High School Tigers boys’ basketball team was the first Herrin High School team to win a state title. They won 31 games and lost just two games–one of their two games to Collinsville 65-64 in the Centralia Holiday Tournament. During the 1956-57 season they won the South Seven Conference for the second consecutive year, they won the Pyramid Tournament for the fifth consecutive year and defeated top ranked Elgin and Collinsville in the IHSA State Finals.
