Team Record:  34-3 (IHSA State Champions)

Biography:  The 1934-35 team was coached by Mark Peterman. They played an unpopular, deliberate style although the fans wanted the fast break. Coach Peterman said the safety and perseverance of his players came first. He also said there was no sense in running your boys to death. This perseverance and style helped Springfield win it’s 2nd State Championship. This was the most successful basketball season in the history of the school up to that time.
