Biography:

Paul attended Seymour High School through his junior year of 1939-40. At that time, Seymour was one of many small high schools that only offered three years of high school, so he transferred to Champaign for his senior year, graduating in 1941. 

Paul led Seymour to a 20-11 record and a district title as a junior. He was the top scorer in Champaign County and No. 8 in the state. His senior year, he started on a 26-3 Champaign team that won conference and regional championships.
