Biography: John Kingsley is a former basketball player at Glassford H.S. and has contributed much to its successor, Illini Bluffs High School and the Glasford community. Kingsley has been a school board and church board member, telephone board president, Boy Scout leader and American Legion commander. In 1980, Kingsley was named Sports Booster of the Year. Kingsley initiated the John Kaufman Sportsmanship Award for the Glasford Optimist Club.  It is voted on at each game, home and away, and tallied at the end of the season. Kingsley and Bud Scarcliff are the first IBCA inductees from Illini Bluffs HS. Kingsley, like Scarcliff, has followed basketball in Glasford for more than 65 years.
