Biography: George Latham coached at four Illinois high schools with outstanding success at Quincy.  During his 20 years of coaching, his teams compiled a 383-180 record.  He took eight Quincy High School teams to the state finals (1946, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1956).  His Blue Devils placed 3rd in 1951 and 2nd in 1952 losing in overtime to Hebron.  George has served as president of the Illinois High School Coaches Association.  Other awards received are:  1952 Illinois State University Alumni Award, Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1957, and he was a member of the Chicago Daily News All State Basketball Board from 1945 to 1956.  After leaving Quincy, George traveled to Waukegan where he served that district as an administrator for the remainder of his educational career.  On August 19, 2015, Coach Latham passed away just 4 days shy of his 102nd birthday.
