Biography: 

John coached in the Cahokia school system for 33 years, including five seasons as the Comanches’ head coach from 1986-91. Prior to that, the former Cahokia starting guard was an assistant under Ken McBride for nine years, including the 28-5, fourth-place IHSA state finish in 1985.

John was Cahokia’s junior varsity coach for 15 seasons and the head junior high coach for 13 years. Those teams combined to win more than 350 games and lose fewer than 180.
