Biography:   Jeff is one half of the Lauritzen brothers who focused basketball attention on Martinsville High School. He graduated in 1987 as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,003 points and like his brother Greg was the Decatur Herald & Review Player of the Year. Twice he was an Associated Press all-stater. He was selected to the IBCA all-state team as a senior and was the MVP for the Class A South in the IBCA All-Star Game.

Lauritzen’s high school teams won 98 games in four years, including three IHSA Regionals and five other tournament titles. As a senior, Lauritzen averaged 30 ppg, 8 rpg and 5 apg for Coach Randy Bishop. He and his brother Greg became the school’s first players to have their jerseys retired.

Lauritzen played at Indiana State University and graduated in a tie for second for most 3-pointers in a game with 8. He ranked seventh in Indiana State career free-throw percentage (.888), 13th in single-season free-throw percentage (.901) and 23rd in career steals (82) and 3-pointers (90). He was named to Indiana State’s all-decade team.
