Biography:

Bob Locke began a 40-year career in broadcasting high school basketball in 1955 in Escanaba, Michigan.  Locke slipped south to Aurora in 1960 to the station WMRO.  In 1961, he broadcast his first Illinois High School Association boys’ state tournament from Huff gymnasium.

Locke has been a state tournament fixture ever since.  Locke has continued his close association with the sport ending in March Madness at WKKD in Aurora in 1983.

An outstanding announcer and gentleman, Locke has even coached the sport at lower levels and has played a lot of basketball at the YMCA and in church leagues.  Locke feels in his 40 years of broadcasting, he’s had the distinct pleasure of describing play in more than 1,100 games.
