Biography: Robin McCarter played his high school basketball at Robinson High School and his collegiate basketball at Purdue University. 

He enjoyed an outstanding senior season in 1971-72 when he averaged 26 ppg and 10 rpg.  Robin was named the MVP of the Decatur Thanksgiving Tournament.  He was also named to the all-tournament team for the Danville Christmas Tournament.  During his prep career he scored 30+ points in 9 games–setting a Robinson record.  He established the single game scoring record of 46 points agains St. Joseph-Ogden HS.  Robin was his team’s MVP and was named to the Apollo Conference all conference squad.  He was named to the all Southern Illinois team and to several all state teams.

Robin led the Purdue varsity reserves in scoring and rebounding as both a freshman and sophomore.  He received varsity letters for his junior and senior seasons as a Boilermaker.  He was a member of Purdue’s 1974 NIT Champs.  Robin was a Red Mackey award nominee which is based on scholarship, citizenship, attitude, and obtaining the most from his athletic abilities.
