Biography:

Fortunately for Lockport High School basketball, Helen and Floy Pelletier moved to Lockport in 1956.  Helen came from Tuscola and Floy from Auburn.  Both owned degrees from the University of Illinois.

Helen taught for 25 years, 11 at Lockport High School where she was cheerleader sponsor for four years and pep club sponsor for 10 years.

Floy, was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp, where he served in the Pacific Theater from 1942-46 as an Air Sea Rescue Pilot.  He has a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Illinois.  An extremely active Lions Club member, Floy was president in 1970.  During that year, he chaired the Lions Club committee that raised $100,000 to save the Lockport High School extra curricular program.

Helen and Floy Pelletier are the embodiment of the perfect fan.  Their enthusiasm and support of the Lockport basketball team is unsurpassed and the coaches, players, and fans have applauded their efforts for years.  Helen died in 2011 at the age of 95.  Floy died on November 6, 2018 at the age of 101.
