Biography:

Before he began coaching, Guy Peterson served our country during WWII and was awarded a Bronze Star in the Pacific.  He then served as coach for 22 years and compiled an 806-183 record at the junior varsity and varsity boys’ levels and the girls’ grade school levels. His boys’ teams combined for a 214-71 record in 6 seasons at Crainville Junior HIgh and a 176-34 mark in 4 years at Energy Junior High. His teams were 206-58 in 6 years at Creal Springs Junior High 

He returned to coaching at the girls’ level in 1978 at Creal Springs and compiled a 210-20 record in 6 seasons. His varsity grade school team won state titles in 1980, 1982 and 1983, finished third in 1979 and won 6 regional championships. His team had a 63-game winning streak during a two-year span of 1982-83. The Creal Springs gym is named after Guy Peterson, who died on Oct. 5, 2021 at the age of 99.
