Biography: At the time of his induction, Earl Polen had been an Ottawa High School fan for 56 years. Always on the sidelines at Kingman Gym as a season ticket holder, Polen could also be found at most Pirates’ road games. Whenever possible, Polen was also seen watching most junior high games in Ottawa. Certainly, Earl Polen is a friend of Ottawa basketball and, of course, Illinois basketball.
