Biography:

When Jodi Lynn Rathbun graduated from (Bartonville) Limestone High School she was the state record holder for the most points scored in one season with 1,119 in 1981-82 for an average of 37.3 ppg.  The Rockets were 25-5 during her senior season.  That season she also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 4.9 steals, and 5.2 assists.  She was a 53.4% shooter from the field and 72% from the free throw line.  In successive seasons, Jodi Lynn scored 182, 529, and 717 points before her senior season.  She was an all Mid State 10 conference player during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.  As a junior and senior, she was selected as an all state player for the Champaign News-Gazette and Chicago Tribune.  

Jodi Lynn’s 4 teams at Limestone compiled a 100-16 record, making IHSA Elite Eight appearances in her freshman and senior seasons.  The team dropped sectional championship games in her sophomore and junior seasons.

Her exploits continued at Arizona State University.  As a freshman, she averaged 10.2 ppg and ws the nation’s most productive freshman shooter.  As a sophomore, she averaged 13.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 5.1 apg.  She set school records for assists in a game (12) and in a season (143).  Jodi Lynn was the team’s captain for her junior and senior seasons.  As a point guard for the team she graduated after setting a career mark for assits (441), was 3rd in scoring (1,194), and 7th in rebounding (336).  After her sophomore season Jodi Lynn was invited to the Olympic Trials.
