Biography: Abel averaged 29 ppg and 10 rpg during his senior year at Okawville High School.  He was a first team IBCA and second team AP all state player during that senior season. He scored 1846 career points and grabbed 647 rebounds at OHS.  He was named as the Belleville News Democrat Player of the year for 1997. He played for Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for Coaches Rich Herrin and Bruce Weber from 1997-2001.  He averaged 6.3 ppg at SIUC.
