Biography: Curtis Smith has been associated with basketball for many years. Smith played four years at Indianola High School and Illinois State University. Smith coached Normal Junior High from 1937-39 and claimed one state championship. Smith coached at O’Fallon High School and fashioned a four year record of 86-25. Smith has helped organize little leagues in basketball, football and baseball in the Belleville area. For 45 years, Smith has owned and operated Curt Smith Sporting Goods in Belleville and has been in close contact with coaches of all sports as he serviced schools in the area.  It is believed that Curtis Smith died several years ago.
