Biography: Joseph Tadelman captained two Chicago championship teams at (Chicago) Manley High School and was also a basketball captain at Chicago Teacher’s College. He served as basketball coach at (Chicago) Kelly High School for five seasons before a 29-year stint at (Chicago) Kelvyn Park High School. In that period, Tadelman’s teams were 365 and 360. Twice Tadelman teams won North Section championships. Tadelman also coached basketball for four years at Ericson Elementary School. Tadelman coached for the Boys Club basketball for 15 years. He was presented the Ellie Hasan Memorial Scholarship Award for outstanding contributions in the field of athletics and high school basketball in 1977. The Athletics Officials Association of America honored Tadelman in 1973 for his contributions to both high school football and basketball. Tadelman retired from Kelvyn Park in 1983.  Joseph Tadelman died during November of 2009 at the age of 89.
