Biography:

Ross Thomas, of Carlinville, served as public address announcer and basketball timer for 16 years at (Jacksonville) Routt High School.  He got good training while attending Illinois College where he was student manager in two sports besides basketball.  Thomas later served the college for 10 years as basketball public address announcer.

Calhoun High School in Hardin benefited from Thomas’ abilities when he served that school for nine years as basketball public address announcer.

Thomas served two stints totalling seven years as public address man for basketball at North Greene High School in White Hall.  For 11 years, Thomas was the public address announcer for the West Central Illinois All-Star Basketball Classic in Jacksonville.

Thomas has written athletic programs at Routt, Blackburn College and North Greene.  Thomas has served as sports writer for the Carlinville Democrat.
