Biography: John Whitmore was the leading scorer at Mendota High School as a junior and senior in 1964 and 1965. Whitmore established a single game scoring record of 46 points. As a senior, Whitmore averaged 24 ppg and was named special mention all-state as well as all-NCIC and the all-Marquette Holiday Tournament Team. Whitmore was a three year letterman at Louisiana Tech University. He was team captain during his senior season at Louisiana Tech in 1967.
