Biography:The Lady Highlanders saved their best for last, literally.  It was announced early in the fall of 2008 that the school would close  at the end of the school year.  The squad mad the most of the opportunity and won the school’s first girls’ state championship and the last in the school’s storied history.  A regular season setback to perennial power (Lombard) Montini High School was the only loss on the season for Coach Steve McCuiston’s squad, who finished with a 33-1 record.  Led by the inside-outside tandem of Courtney Lindfors and Gigi DiGrazia, the Lady Highlanders outscored defending state champ West Hancock 12-3 in the 4th quarter of the title game to rally for the win.
