Biography:

At the time of his induction, Ron had been officiating for 41 years after being trained by his father and IBCA Hall of Fame official, Larry Leitner. Ron has worked 37 IHSA Regionals, 25 IHSA Sectionals, 6 IHSA Super-sectionals and the IHSA Class AA state finals in 2005 and 2006, including the 2006 championship game.  Ron, his brother Randall, and his father have all worked IHSA basketball finals.

Ron also has officiated two IHSA state championship football games, working the Class 2A game in 2002 and the Class 3A contest in 2009. He has officiated football playoff games for 26 years.
