Biography:

Larry Peppers added his second Hall of Fame honor to his credits as he was also selected to the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame in 1992. He was the first girls’ basketball coach in Hinckley-Big Rock High School history where he retired in 2007-08 with a 581-218 record after 31 seasons. He was an IBCA District 10 Coach of the Year in 1993, 1996 and 1997.

Peppers’ teams won eight IHSA Class A Regional titles and an IHSA Class 1A Regional crown, two IHSA Class A Sectionals and two Little Ten Conference regular-season and tournament championships. His last two teams went 27-4 and 28-3 and set the foundation for the IHSA 1A state titles in 2009 and 2010. He coached the IBCA Class A North in the 1997 IBCA All-Star game and was an assistant coach in 1996.

Peppers also coached Hinckley-Big Rock boys’ soccer from 1976-2007 and was the winningest coach in IHSA history when he retired with a record of 571-155-42 and four IHSA Elite Eight appearances.
