Biography:

This is the story of the “Rock Island Line.” A line of five tremendous Rock Island High School fans. Paul and Marilyn Wendland began on the Rock Island High School Booster Club Board of Directors in 1974. They first bought their season tickets in 1951. Paul was the scorekeeper for out of town games, missing only 2 in the last 18 years, leading to their inductions. Paul Wendland died on December 3, 2004 at the age of 73.  Marilyn died on December 17, 2010 at the age of 83.

Dick and Elaine Black and Carl “Zeke” Zwicker were the other members of the “Line”.

Rock Island fans must fall in behind the “Rock Island Line” when it comes to personal support of Rock’s basketball.  Their legacies are still felt today.
